Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I hope you're enjoying the sun! Summer is in full swing now and I'm excited to be out and about this weekend.
But first, I wanted to let you know about a very exciting development regarding Muldoon Town Square Park. As many of you know, the Northeast Community Council, community members, assembly members, myself and many others have been working to bring this dream of a park on the east side to reality.
Planning began last year and development has started. But, just this week, it was announced that the Municipality of Anchorage received a $750,000 grant to make the park a truly memorable space for the entire community. The grant is authorized and paid for by the federal government through the Department of Interior's Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership.
The development of the park from an idea to what it is now is something for East Anchorage to be very proud of.
If you're around this weekend, I'll be at the
Russian Jack Community Picnic at Russian Jack Springs Park from 11am to 2pm tomorrow, Saturday, July 22nd. There will be food, refreshments, and lots of games and activities for kids to play.
